DAY TRIP PLAN

Morning pick up at the hotel and drive towards Piran, Slovenian Adriatic treasure, which is considered to be one of the most authentic and most photogenic towns on the Adriatic coast. It resembles a large open-air museum with its medieval architecture and its rich cultural heritage. Narrow streets and compact houses give the town its unique charm, while giving you a chance to admire the Venetian architecture. Exploring city main attractions: Tartini square, Church of St George, Minorite monastery, city walls. Then we will visit Sečovlje Salt Pans, the largest Slovenian salt evaporation pond to know everything about the salt harvesting. The salt works have been active since the 13th century. Nowadays, the salt production is carried on in order to preserve natural and cultural heritage. We continue to the town of Koper to visit one of the biggest Slovenian wine cellars – Vina Koper – to have a wine tasting and also to hear the explanation of how the same vine can produce different wines on various soils. After the visit, we explore Koper, the largest port in Slovenia that represents the gateway or the entrance point to Central Europe. Short city sightseeing tour: the main door, Venetian-style palazzos, charming churches, the Cathedral, the Baptistery, the Tito Square etc. For our last stop, we will visit an olive growing farm and experience olive oil tasting.
